Is it possible to pop microwave popcorn the oldfashion way, in a kettle with oil on the range?

I've been postulated 20 packets of microwave popcorn, microwave oven and the former will not pop!
It is the popcorn even created, so it should work OK. All microwave does heat the oil in the bag until the popcorn. I do not see why any source would not ignite heating oil for the popcorn.

Is it possible to pop microwave-popcorn in an oven?
Apr 01, 2008 by lil_blonde_dancer_7 | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
Our microwave stony-broke a few days ago, and I just found some microwave-popcorn in the pantry. I'm really in the mood for some unfledged-popped, and we dont have any other type. If it actually is possible, what temperature do I set the oven to, and for how large? Please help
mayhap but stovetop would work better. just use a large dutch oven personification pot. open the bag and dump in into the pot to make a single layer. there should be enough oil to cook it. put the burner on mode. put the lid on the pot and when you hear popping, use potholders

(don't requisite it ha ha ha or use tape) Microwave on your popcorn setting for about 1 minute 30 or less. Listen for kernels to start popping.
